We finished up Rome with a bang! On Wednesday we had pizza by the Pantheon, toured the Colosseum, and had a late night dinner with some vino. To be honest, Rome in general is a little tough with a wheelchair. You definitely have to plan ahead, and know that the roads and the cobble stones are pretty rough. An electric wheelchair or scooter would be tough in many places, so planning an accessible van transport to your various tourist locations is a requirement in many cases. We were not able to fit the Vatican into day 2, so we got up early today and hit the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and the St. Peters Basilica all in a speedy 2 hours! Thank God Harold got us to the front of all the lines!!
Highlights of Day 2:
- Early morning coffee and danish
- Lunch at Pantheon piazza
- Colosseum….amazing!
- Late night dinner and vino
Highlights of Day 3:
- 8AM accessible van transfer to Vatican/St. Peters/Sistine Chapel
- Train to Florence
- Check into Airbnb!! Pictures to come….but amazing, 20 minutes outside Florence
